Women’s History Month Reflection 2023

While we tend to still think trucking is a male dominated industry, I am proud of what I have seen in my 40+ year career.

I admit I hid my gender at first and signed my initials to hopefully attain acceptance on contracts.

In the day, at conferences, no line at breaks!  Today, that is not the case.  The talent, detailed orientation and intelligence of women is now discovered. We are innate problem solvers.

There are many exciting evident roles populated by women in trucking, logistics and relevant trade associations and academia.   The development that helps pave the way for a better workforce and career path.

Excargo serves retail, spirits, relocation, chemical and a variety of important industries. We see women at every level, from driving to warehousing to C Level.

I hesitate to name names at the risk of minimizing the growing ranks of women, making history and expanding opportunities rapidly.  Take a look around, the faces are changing! It is not unusual to see females flying commercial jets, piloting cargo ships, and other “non-traditional” roles. Logistics is a great field due to the variety of challenging and rewarding careers.

I am so proud to be a part of making this economically important phenomenon a reality.
