FMCSA Removes Non-Compliant ELDs
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has removed nine electronic logging devices from its approved list after determining they failed to meet federal requirements (49 CFR Part 395).
Drivers and carriers using these devices must stop using them immediately and switch to paper logs or a compliant ELD to remain in compliance.
Import cargo at major U.S. container ports is projected to decline year-over-year in the first half of 2026, according to a recent report from the National Retail Federation and Hackett Associates. From May 12–14, law enforcement will conduct inspections as part of the CVSA’s International Roadcheck initiative — a 72-hour exam focused on vehicle condition, cargo securement, driver documentation, and regulatory compliance.
