Trump’s 90-Day China Tariff Pause
President Donald Trump’s agreement to reduce tariffs on China for 90 days is expected to trigger a surge of delayed cargo shipments and increase market volatility, experts say. Trump has used tariffs to push for better trade deals, setting a 10% baseline tariff for partners. China was targeted with threats up to 145%, but on May 12, both countries agreed to lower tariffs to 30% for the next 90 days.
