ESG in Trucking and Logistics

At Excargo Services, we recognize the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance principles in today’s business landscape. We earn trust for our brand and services through the highest standards of quality, safety, ethics, and integrity. Our commitment to ESG principles ensures that we not only deliver reliable and efficient trucking solutions but also contribute positively to the communities we serve and the planet we share.

Through the adoption of fuel-efficient technologies, route optimization, and vehicle maintenance strategies, we strive to reduce emissions and promote a greener transportation industry. Furthermore, we prioritize the well-being of our employees, fostering a safe and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes fair labor practices.

Environmental Responsibility

We are committed to integrating sustainable practices into our operations to minimize our environmental footprint. Since 2005, Excargo Services partnered with Smartway to improve our fuel efficiency. SmartWay, a US Environmental Protection Agency program, has helped partners save 357 million barrels of oil, and avoid emitting 152 million metric tons of CO2, and 2.7 million short tons of NOx, which helps protect the environment and keep Americans healthy.

Additionally, we are Texas Adopt-a-Highway Sponsors, representing 4 miles of Texas highway. Together, the program has cleared Hundreds of thousands of pounds of litter from Texas highways. See our signs at 225W at the Jefferson St overpass by the Flying J truck stop and 146N at Fairmont Parkway on the way to Barbours Cut Container Terminal!

 Ethical Responsibility

We aim to practice ethical behavior through fair treatment of all stakeholders, including leadership, investors, employees, suppliers, and customers. Ensuring the safety of drivers, other road users, and the cargo being transported is of paramount importance.

Implementing rigorous safety protocols, providing proper training and equipment, and adhering to traffic rules and regulations are essential ethical obligations. Adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards is an ethical obligation. This includes complying with transportation regulations, licensing requirements, labor laws, and safety guidelines to ensure fair and responsible operations.

Ethical Supply Chain Management: Ensuring that the company’s supply chain adheres to ethical standards is crucial. This involves vetting and selecting suppliers and partners who share similar ethical values and practices, including responsible sourcing, fair labor practices, and environmental sustainability.

Continuous Improvement: Striving for continuous improvement in all aspects of the business is an ethical obligation. This includes seeking ways to enhance safety measures, reduce environmental impact, promote employee well-being, and address any ethical concerns that may arise.

 Philanthropic Responsibility

We actively engage in regular donations to organizations dedicated to making a positive impact in various communities in our industry and local Houston community. Engaging with the communities in which the trucking company operates is an ethical responsibility. This can involve supporting local initiatives, participating in community events, and contributing positively to the economic and social development of the area.
