TCA, Wreaths Across America (WAA), and Pilot Flying J are launching the trucking industry’s first-annual “Rolling Tribute” to our nation’s veterans. Professional truck drivers can honor their sacrifices with a Trucking’s Patriot Pair wreath set–one remembrance wreath to affix to the grill of their trucks and one to be placed by volunteers on gravestones at Arlington National Cemetery on National Wreaths Across America Day, December 14. And to kick off the tribute, 1,000 sets will be given away for free.
On Tuesday, November 26, just two days before Thanksgiving, drivers visiting Pilot Travel Center in Milford, Connecticut, will be given a free grill wreath, while supplies last. They will also receive fasteners so they can attach their wreaths to their trucks onsite as an immediate show of support for our veterans. The other half of their sets will be sent to Arlington National Cemetery.
Anyone who cannot make it to Milford but would still like to be a part of the rolling tribute can order a Trucking’s Patriot Pair at www.TruckloadofRespect.com for $30 plus shipping. Any company that would like to participate can order Trucking’s Patriot Pairs to adorn its entire fleet–and an equal number of veterans’ gravestones–through the same site, while suppplies last.
We are also asking every driver who attaches a wreath to his/her grill to stop at a local cemetery on National Wreaths Across America Day, place the wreath on the gravestone of a veteran, and to share a photo and their experience on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #RollingTribute.
Even if you do not have a grill, you can honor our veterans this holiday season. Both individuals and companies are encouraged to follow the example of Eaton Corporation, a TCA member that contributed $750 to help cover the cost of placing wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery. Visit www.TruckloadofRespect.com to make your donation.
